Sami Culture
Visit Lapp staden, a beautiful, wellpreserved and peaceful place situated 5 minutes from the centre of Arvidsjaur. Here you can feel history come alive and see more than 80 Sami buildings from the late 18th century. Join the daily guided tour during the peak season or experience Lapland at your own pace. Lappstaden really comes alive during the last weekend in August each year, during the Sami religious holiday Storstämningshelgen. During this weekend you can experience lassooing competitions, a dried meat auction, church services and much more in Lappstaden.

Nature’s own water park!
Rapids shooting, fishing, going on a beaver safari, go-karting, canoeing, hiking, playing golf and going on a steam train ride – anything is possible. Grab the chance to go on an adventure with a difference: go on a beaver safari with fishing and a stop ashore along one of the rivers. Fish for arctic char in some of Sweden’s best fishing waters with a local guide or visit one of more than 20 nature reserves in the municipality. Centrumbadet in Arvidsjaur offers aquatic fun for all ages, both indoors and out, and at Camp Gielas you can swim outdoors in a lake with a jetty.
