Strömsund is the second-largest population centre in Jämtland and is situated 100km north of Östersund and only 5km from the Ulriksfors stop. Rivers and streams rush down from the mountains through gentle valleys with fairytale forests and through lush agricultural villages. The area gained fame throughout Sweden as a result of Beppe Wolgers’ film Dunderklumpen. During your journey on Inlandsbanan you pass through the centre of Hoting, but you should make the time to visit other areas such as Hammerdal, Gäddede, Backe and Rossön as well. |
| Make a stop in Hoting The motoring museum Hotings Bilmuseum has one of Europe’s foremost collections with around 100 vintage cars and some 40 motor bikes. You will find the hotel Hoting Unlimited here offering accommodation, spa facilities, activities and homemade food in a peaceful, inspirational setting. You will be welcomed by Britt-Marie and her staff. You can visit an exhibition about prehistoric Hoting – Hoting Forntid – at the campsite and children can try quad-biking. Don’t miss the Hoting craft fair which runs from 30 June–15 August.
